Causes

  • Climate change is a significant global challenge.

  • It arises from various interdependent factors.

  • Human activities are primarily responsible for causing climate change.

  • Greenhouse gas emissions, fossil fuel burning, deforestation, urbanization, and resource overconsumption are key human activities driving climate change.

  • These activities lead to the accumulation of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.

  • The result is global warming and disruptions in climate patterns.

  • Comprehensive understanding of these factors is crucial for addressing and mitigating the impacts of climate change.

Carbon Dioxide Emissions (CO2)

The combustion of fossil fuels such as coal, oil, and natural gas for energy production, transportation, and industry is the primary source of carbon dioxide emissions, which is the most abundant greenhouse gas.

Use of fossil fuels in transport

Motor vehicles using gasoline and diesel are a significant source of CO2 and other greenhouse gas emissions. Road transport is one of the main contributors to climate change.

Nitrous Oxide Emissions (N2O)

Nitrous oxide is released into the atmosphere through the use of chemical fertilizers in agriculture, as well as from the combustion of fossil fuels and waste management.

Deforestation

Deforestation, the practice of cutting down trees, has a significant impact on climate change. Trees absorb CO2 from the atmosphere, and when forests are destroyed, CO2 is released.

Methane emissions (CH4)

Methane is a greenhouse gas produced by livestock farming, waste disposal, natural gas production and emissions from flooded rice paddies.

Use of Fossil Energy in Industry

Industry is another major emitter of greenhouse gases due to the combustion of fossil fuels for energy and the chemical processes involved in the production of various goods.
